K.N.O.T (2018)
A collaboration with Katia Zangu
Supported by Arts Admin, Phoebe Davies and Nandi Bhebhe
This work was a response to a question about power shifts.
We began with a question which asked:
How can we find a way for different voices to exist without being silenced?
Hair is a personal feature of an individual, it is also very revealing - often associated with identity, culture. We wanted to position ourselves in movement in a way where we mixed up these ideas, we lost the sense of identity and whose body belonged to who. An interweaving of different experiences without the viewer having to “know”.
